SSQ Bee: A day of generosity at Cité JoieLac-Beauport, Quebec, June 15, 2009 — On Saturday, June 13, over a hundred SSQ employees from Quebec City took part in a major bee at Cité Joie in Lac Beauport. They volunteered their time and energy to build Grange SSQ, a structure donated to Cité Joie by SSQ Real Estate that will be converted into a nature interpretation center. Major work was carried out during the day - roofing, painting, and outdoor design of Grange SSQ, and general maintenance on the rest of the site. Cité Joie director Denis Savard wishes to thank the volunteers: “With the invaluable support of many individuals, partners, and contractors, we were able to complete a series of tasks before summer that would otherwise have been impossible.” Cité Joie is a specialized respite, vacation, and outdoor activity site for disabled individuals. With an area of over 7 million square feet in the Lac Beauport mountains, Cité Joie welcomes people with mental or physical disabilities year-round. The main goal of the work carried out was to provide visitors with an exceptional and outstanding site.
