Auto Extra

SSQ General Insurance provides additional coverage to enhance your basic coverage. Some of these options are available individually, but they are also offered as an Auto Extra package that includes the following:

Enhanced Accident Benefits

A death benefit of $25,000 or a mutilation benefit of up to $25,000, for both you and your spouse, is paid in case of death or injury in an automobile accident. This benefit will be payable whether you are the driver or a passenger in the vehicle or a pedestrian.
Reimbursement of medical expenses of up to $2,000 is included.

Broadened "Loss of Use" Extension

If your vehicle is immobilized following a covered occurrence, a replacement automobile or any other necessary means of transportation will be provided up to a total limit of $2,250 per automobile and $75 per day.
Also, in the event of loss or damage occurring during a trip, you will be reimbursed for additional travel expenses, up to 50% of the amount stated in the endorsement.

Waiver of Deductible—Hit-and-Run

If damage to the insured automobile is a result of an accident on a public road and in which the third party involved is not identified (hit-and-run), we will waive the deductible stated in the Declarations, provided that the accident was reported promptly to the police.

Waiver of Deductible—Total Loss

In the event of damage to the insured automobile resulting in a total loss or constructive total loss, we will waive the deductible stated in the Declarations for such coverage.

Civil Liability Resulting from Damage to Non-Owned Automobiles

Your liability coverage is extended to cover damage to automobiles in your care, custody or control but which you do not own, including automobiles provided by an employer, up to $50,000 per occurrence.
