All in a Day's Work

A day in the life of an insurance agent is far from boring or routine. We have to deal directly with numerous clients to meet their needs.

I provide clients with a variety of information and make changes to their insurance policies (change of vehicle, added protection, etc.). I suggest home and auto insurance products to potential clients based on their needs.

An insurance agent faces an enormous challenge every day—satisfying the clientele!

My Time at SSQ General Insurance

I started working at SSQ General Insurance on September 9, 2001. When I was hired, I had no training or experience in insurance. Because a certificate issued by Autorité des marchés financiers is required to work in this profession, the company offered me excellent training that helped me pass the exams and complete an internship. These endeavors helped me to become a licensed personal-lines damage insurance agent.

I have been an insurance agent with the company ever since and have also become involved in its social club. In cooperation with five colleagues, I organize various activities that allow members to get together in different settings. These activities encourage employees from different departments to get to know each other.

Before Joining SSQ General Insurance

Before I became an insurance agent, I worked as a pharmacy technical assistant. A totally different field, you’re probably thinking. Not really! Like an insurance agent, I had to deal with clients directly to meet their needs. I discovered the world of insurance through my work with drug insurance. I realized I enjoyed giving people information on their insurance policies, meeting their needs, and giving them advice and information on various products. At SSQ General Insurance, I still give clients advice in addition to selling our products, but I do it from the Customer Relations Center.
