Report A Home Claim
Has your home sustained a fire, or been burglarized or flooded? Has it or any of your other insured property been damaged in any way? Notify one of our claims adjusters as soon as possible so you can be compensated quickly.
And remember that a property inventory can be an important piece of supporting documentation.
Helpful tips
| In case of theft | Request a police report and keep the report number. |
|---|---|
| In case of water damage or fire | Until an SSQauto claims adjuster can assess the damage, keep any damaged items that do not pose a health risk. If possible, limit the extent of the damages by taking immediate measures. For example, move furniture to a dry corner of a flooded basement, and turn off water and electricity. |
| Cost of expenses | Keep all receipts and bills for expenses incurred following a loss (e.g., room rental costs, meals, etc.). |
| Documentation of damage | Make a list of damaged or stolen property along with brief descriptions, serial numbers, purchase dates, replacement costs, and any other information that could help us serve you better. If possible, take photos of the damage to show to the claims adjuster. |

Property inventory
As a preventive measure, we encourage you to make an inventory of your belongings and keep it in a safe place outside your home. This checklist will be extremely useful should you ever suffer a loss.
