- Answer:
A number of factors come into play when determining your premium:

- The actual risks associated with the building, such as the building's age, the number of units, the location, and fire prevention measures
- The type of heating system used
- The age of the insured person
- The number of smokers living in the residence
- The presence of an alarm system
- Question 6:
- If I'm a renter, how much insurance do I need?
- Answer:
It all depends on the value of your personal property and the building you live in. Keeping an up-to-date inventory will help you evaluate your insurance needs and make it easier to file a claim should the need arise. Home insurance also covers your civil liability. The amount of civil liability coverage you need depends largely on the type and value of the building you're living in. Your liability is assessed differently for a two-unit building than it is for a sixty-unit building.
